How to get started
Step 1
Update Windy.app to the latest version. iOS must be 15 or later
Step 2
Step 3
Type Windy.app in the search and tap on it
Step 4
Choose a 3-day or a 6-day widget, then tap on Add Widget
From the Home Screen, tap and hold an empty area until the apps
jiggle, then tap on the
button
Step 1
Touch and hold the Lock Screen until the Customize button appears >> tap on it
Step 2
Step 3
Find Windy.app in the list
of the apps
of the apps
Step 4
Tap or drag the widgets that you want to add to the Lock Screen
Select Lock Screen and tap Add Widgets button

Update Windy.app to the latest version

Allow downloading our extension on Apple Watch if needed (optional)
Step 3
Find Windy.app’s blue logo and open app

Swipe between wind, swell, swell&wind widgets

If you want to see the forecast for your location, allow access in
Do you want to see the forecast for a particular spot? Tap and hold the widget to find the spot using Windy.app's spot search
Tap and hold the widget to switch between ºC and ºF for temperature, and m/s, mph, and knots for wind speed

Important note
The widget uses the same location as the weather widget on the app’s main page. Set it to “My location” or a specific spot in the settings.
Tap on the widget to open Windy.app and view the detailed forecast for that location.
If you see “location needed” and don’t see the weather widget on the app’s main page, enable geolocation in phone settings.
The widget is available for iOS 16 and later versions. Update your iOS if necessary.
