EXP3, our updated AI model, captures how wind speeds up in narrow coastal passages and around obstacles. It uses detailed terrain data to forecast at 3 km resolution along coastlines worldwide, up to 10 days ahead.

Why compare different models?

No single model is the most accurate everywhere. Compare two or three forecasts: if they agree, you can be more confident. If they differ, the forecast is less certain.

How to compare forecasts:
On the map, tap the model name in the corner. Choose another model to see how its wind forecast differs.

By default, we show the best global model on the map. Switching to a local one can improve accuracy and offer an important alternative point of view.
On the spot screen, you can switch models as well. Or use the Compare mode to see forecasts from different models on one chart.
